Relaxed and inviting, the home of designer  Jenni Kayne  is full of warm and contemporary elements, making it so inspiring to look at. It's the layout and choice of furniture pieces I enjoy most.

Such a simple yet powerfully styled bedroom. The  reclaimed-oak ceiling is my favourite element, and well that walk out to the pool is looking pretty good right now.


      


     

Gallery walls are always a great way to dress up your walls and showcase great art work and photos. The key is to keep these galleries interesting, is not only with what you place in your frames but the layout of the frames. Lining booth walls of a hallway can help to create great focal points.

Cozy Calling

I don't know about you, but my favourite place durning the cold months of winter is my bedroom. That's where I find myself wrapped in the warmest of blankets and in the arms of pure comfort. I like to think that its the one place that has our names written on it, its home within the home.

To obtain and maintain that comfort I do have a few essentials that must be presence.

Blankets, Blankets, Blankets!




I find think large knits help to create a super relaxed feel to the room and are extra cozy on those cold nights.



Destination Bed! Even the wall art are is captivating.

Textured Head Rest- So much to love about these kinds of pillows, soft to the the touch and what a great way to add colour and pattern.

Branching out into Fall

The idea of  bringing the outdoors in during the fall season never fails to awaken new creativity.  I really enjoy walking into a space and finding pieces of the outdoors being used as decor. The look of branches maybe my favourite, it just seems to add a real feel of relaxation and volume to a room. I also like the fact they are easy to get a hold of this time of year, many home owners do their tree cutting now and are usually happy to share with you : )

For my last window project I used some branches I picked up from one of my neighbours. It made for a fun and very useful prop in my display.

I was able to hang scarves and jewellery for a boutique store I was working with. It was super easy to work with the branches and really-what a great way to bring on the presence of fall.

For all things we come across in our daily lives I am loving branches and the endless creative they offer. I'm currently working on some of Christmas decorations, and can not wait to show you just how I will give new life to found branches.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Between today and tomorrow I will be spending a little more time with my family and friends. I love the holidays for many reasons- the colours, textures sounds and smells of fall, however I love nothing more than being in the presence of loved ones and relaxing in a cozy environment with Thanksgiving written all over it.

Creative Soul Friday (Colour Joy, Pattern Play)

In the pursuit of a little design joy, I have turned to my soft spot,  the play of pattern. Colour already makes me happy,  so to see the mix of varying colours and patterns really gets me in my zone. It really is magic that the most unpredicted pattern layering works so well together letting off pure visual excitement. A winner on Creative Soul Friday, pattern takes over for a fun post!
